Hello and thank you for visiting my site. My tag line "If it moves, I'll shoot it!" was conceived over 20 years ago when I shot mostly video.

Today, "Keith" of KW FILMZ shoots hi-quality digital images with a Canon 5D 12.8 mp SLR and 28-300mm image stabilized Canon lens.

As you can see from the images below, I prefer to shoot outdoor subjects and water related activities.

I live & work here in Virginia Beach, Va. but can travel if necessary.

November Nor'Easter Virginia Beach 2009 : **11.16.09 All the pics are up including new ones from Sunday. Veteran's Day 2009 Marked the beginning of a wicked Nor'Easter that was responsible for flooding,down trees,power outages,school closings,beach erosion and many other types of storm related damage. Today is Friday the 13th and I personally have had enough of the wind & rain. Shadowlawn and many other neighborhoods in Virginia Beach are a mess with leaves & branches littering the yards & roadways. Some trees came down early in the storm, while most fell yesterday. One of the most tense moments for me was when a rare thunderstorm roared thru the city with winds over 75 miles per hour Thursday evening. I have a huge old Oak Tree in my front yard, which already had a lean from Hurricane Isabelle in 2001. I thought it was going down for sure during the high wind gusts. The constant 30-45 mph winds for three days have substantially weekend the root system and there is a new "bulge" at the base of the tree. Many trees have fallen in Shadowlawn, some on streets, and unfortunately, some on houses. The following photos document only a small part of the storm damage. I feel fortunate that our house is intact and my family is safe. For some, the storm recovery effort will take weeks, maybe months.

Fog Surfing : April 10, 2008. It was foggy and a swell was still rolling in from a recent storm. I headed down to 1st. St. @ Va. Beach to shoot the surf action. These pics are mostly in their raw form with a few tweaks done here and there. Most were shot from the rock jetty. It was strangely quite sitting out there in the fog with only the surfers in view. The only sounds were a distant for horn, breaking waves, and the hoots from the riders as they took off. Later that day I met a guy named Ricky J. I just happened to shoot him the most since his surfing style really stood out. He's a Team Rider for Surf and Adventure Co. in Sandbridge. Moon Encounter : A full moon has occurred closer to the Earth than it has done at any time for the past 15 years. The Moon's elliptical orbit means its distance from the Earth is not constant. It was a little over 350,000km away as it passed over the northern hemisphere, about 30,000km closer than usual. I took these photos December 12,2008 at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, except for the last one ,taken December 07' on the Corrotoman River.

LOOK FOR THE SEPARATE GALLERIES TO FOLLOW. The Special Olympics Virginia Polar Plunge dates back to 1993. Virginia's Adventure Club East was looking for something fun and "extreme" to do in the middle of winter. Coincidentally, Special Olympics Virginia was looking for new fundraising avenues. Soon, the two pieces came together. That first plunge, held at the Clarion Hotel, featured all of about 34 plungers and still raised almost $8,000. In comparison, last year, the 16th annual Polar Plunge raised more than $900,000 for Special Olympics Virginia and more than 3,500 chilled souls took the plunge. Because of this generous support, Special Olympics Virginia is able to provide year-round training and sports programs for both children and adults with intellectual disabilities throughout the state of Virginia. This is the second year we have donated the services of Nevermind Charters for photographing the event from the water. Last year we had local Photographer Tom Gorman aboard and he did a great job capturing the Plungers as they entered the water. Special thanks to Holly Claytor of the Special Olympics of Virginia for working with us and coordinating the photo-shoot. 2008 NAS Oceana Twilight Air Show and Blue Angels : Hi-lights from the Friday night show Sept. 19 @ NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach,Va. The weather conditions played a key role in shooting the event. The clouds and setting sun made for an interesting backdrop. Cool temps were just right for shorts & sweatshirts, a welcome alternative to the recent heat-wave this time of year. Northeast winds had been gusting 15-25 mph the last few day, and this night was no exception. Officials cancelled the Red Devils parachute jump, and the Fireworks finale for safety reasons. The shots I have posted here are a departure from the usual Air-Show photos ,which normally depict a brightly lit subject against a blue sky. Each photo has it's own unique cropping and is best viewed in a large format. If you see a photo that you wish to purchase , I can re-crop it in a standard size. 9/21- I shot the Blue Angels show from the Sky Bar atop the Hilton on 31st St. Thank you to the management for allowing access! Military Aviation Museum : Located in Pungo, Virginia, the museum featured a flight demonstration of the P-51 Mustang, guest speaker, and tour of the facilities. The Mustang is an impressive machine both on the ground and in flight, with a long history of success during WWII. KW shot the Mustang, while Jeff Stewart did the interior shots. Taken 10/7/08

NEVERMIND Fishing : 11.11.09 I used to run a 31' Pursuit by the name of "Nevermind Charters", but we shut it down in April 09' due to the economy. Now I fish with friends under the same "Nevermind" name just for fun. We don't run the Pursuit anymore, but have plenty of other boats to use. I'll be posting pictures from recent trips here in order from oldest to most recent. Just in case you're interested, I started using the Nevermind name back in the early 90's when Nirvanna came out with the album by that name. At the time I was "borrowing" a Sea Ray Pachanga from the boat dealership I worked at, and some of the employees couldn't understand why I was allowed to use it. So, on went the Nevermind name on the transom telling them that there was no need to worry about what I was doing. And thru the years the name lived on, and wound up on my charter boat and is still on my license plate.

Rudee Inlet Dredge-Ice Patrol : Wednesday March 4,2009 it was hovering just over 19 degrees in Rudee Inlet, Va. Beach. I knew there would be ice on the Inlet, so I headed out for some shots of HOPEFULLY the last cold day of the Winter. The forecast call for 60-70 degree temps this weekend-so good-bye ice (I hope). I was lucky enough to catch Al Bevan & Crew towing out the "Rudee Inlet II" from the Dredge Shop. They were headed out to maintain the channel in Rudee Inlet. WIth out their hard work, the Inlet would fill in with sand, shutting down the fishing and pleasure boating out of Rudee. Special props to Capt. KP leading the charge thru the ice in the Jon Boat. Lonnie, you must be proud.

MAKO 20 : 11.4.09 We had a great Summer in the Mako, and now getting ready for Rockfish Season. Check out the recent pics at the end of the Gallery. April, 2008. The call came in. "I need this boat out of my yard" KW & Chris drove from Va. Beach to the Northern Neck on a crappy ,cold ,grey Sunday for the extraction. Thanks to Effe and Robert, KW was still feeling the effects of the squaller @ Big Sam's the night before. Chris, on the other hand was sharp as a tack. During the 2 1/2 hr. trip up, we questioned the condition of the "free" rig, knowing only that the boat was a Mako, and the trailer had two flat tires. Would this trip be a waste of time? As we pulled into the driveway and stepped out into the cold. damp air ,we spied the prize wedged in between two trees. It was full of leaves, branches and spiders, with the two left tires flatter than a Natty Lite left open on the front porch @ the Pony all night. We hooked her up to the 250 & drug it out into the dim grey light. Out came the jack, air compressor, grease gun, tools, and a whole lot of hope to make the trailer road-worthy. We got the tires aired-up, tightened and greased all the bearings, and had to remove the dragging brake shoes on the right front wheel. Next we installed a new set of lights and wiring harness, but couldn't get them to work. After an hour of screwing around, Mick donated an extension cord so we could cut it up in order to get enough wire to ground the lights.(There is no NAPA nearby!) So at 5:30 we finally hit the road and headed back to VB. Of course it was raining and getting dark. The Mako towed like a dream, and we lost about 20 pounds of leaves in the first mile. We stopped @ KFC in Klmarnock for some vittles. While in line , we got to listen to the "Entertainer" , some old dude in a Pink Jacket and pink beaded necklace with a keyboard and microphone singin' oldies. So here I (KW) am, standing in KFC, my head still throbbing from the Big Sam's incident, I've been on the road all day, worked out in the cold for three hours, and still have a two hour drive home in the rain and dark towing a questionable rig with an illegal tag, and I'm rockin' out with the old folks on a Sunday night in freekin' downtown Kilmarnock, VA. Yeee-haa! Anyway, we made it back, got the motor running the next day, and started cleaning her up. The boat is solid and has a lot of potential. As of 5/23. we are still in the "tear apart" mode and will start going back together soon. We spent almost a year getting the boat ready for the water. All of the wiring was replaced, new gauges installed,new controls,new fuel tank and hoses,new stereo & speakers,new hardware, and the center console was completely filled and painted. Effe was in charge of rebuilding the teak deck hatches and fabricating a new forward hatch cover. The first test run was in June of 2009 and we just idled around Rudee Inlet one night. Went just fine. The next trip was in Broad Bay with the kids and it was a full-on adventure. First time we opened up the Evinrude 200 it ran like a top. The Mako had many more local outings including tubing trips,dinner cruises and fishing. The best trip was to the Northern Neck of Virginia to visit the waters where she "originally" came from. The gentleman that gave me the boat was there for the July 4th Holiday and was amazed at how good she looked. We took him for a spin and hung out on the beach with the whole crew. He even brought his 1980 Mako 23 Center Console out for the day. (I want that one next) Check out the recently added pics near the end of the gallery and check back for more.

U.S.S Truman Friends & Family Cruise 08' : 7/26/08 XO J.J. Cummings invited a whole slew of friends to ride along on the U.S.S. Harry S. Truman for a day of food,tours & air shows. We departed Norfolk,Va. at about 0600 and ventured 80 miles off the coast of Va. Beach. It was a perfect day offshore-sunny, light winds ,and calm seas. Halloween Bash 09' : Wow! The Barne's Halloween Bash was a blast. Lot's of great costumes and perfect weather- a near full moon and temps in the 70's. I can't believe we moved an entire party by foot to Big Sam's for the late night edition. What a looonnng walk thru the hood, but well worth it. 21st Annual ABFT 2003 : August 3rd, 2003 we headed down to Ocracoke for the 21st Annual All Boyz Fishing Trip. It rained the entire weekend, but we still had a blast. Not so good on the pictures, but you can still see that we partied pretty hard.

25th Annual ABFT 2007 : August 10, 2007 We headed down to Ocracoke Island,N.C. for the 25th Anniversary of the "All Boyz Fishing Trip". The weather was off & on, but we still had a great time and initiated a new member. "Ronnie had to cook up a round of Brats on the beach and serve em' up right. ECSC Bikini Contest Saturday : OK, I don't shoot Bikini Contests on a normal basis. The "Owner" of ECSC handed me All Access Badges, and asked me to shoot EVERYTHING possible. So I marched out onto the beach, informed my wife & kid of the mission, and started shooting. Here are the hi-lights from Saturday's contest. Rated G, just as it was seen by hundreds on the beach. Thanks MH for being cool. Oh yeah, did I mention it was 100 degrees plus in the pit while shooting? It was like holding a smoldering cannon to my face for over an hour. Sunday Spring Hill Storms : Sunday July 12, 09' we had a good sized crew on the Beach @ 10th St., just watching the kids play in the surf and enjoying a few cold beverages. Kathleen snapped the now famous shot of KW & the Grape Smuggler (see the Facebook pages) ,and I got a bunch of good shots from the afternoon, which started off sunny, but turned to severe storms. Earlier in the day, Sam was standing on the beach complaining of stomach pains and a fat head from the night before, so I sent him in to the water to act as Jungle Jim for the kids (he got fully abused). Once the first rain shower passed, we headed up to the Hot Tub @ the Spring Hill Suites. We rapped with Aviv fro m Turkey until the storms came and then proceeded to take over the bar. 6 adults and 5 kids ,and two tourists from Ireland made for a wild time during the storms with all the doors pulled down and the shutters in place. The pitchers of Shock Top were on sale ,but Rich stuck to his trusty Bud Lites, fearing a fat head on Monday. KW, Phil & the women picked up the slack. (How many pitchers did we have?) So after a bunch of food ,laughs and pitchers, the storms got worse, and we had to call Effe in for the evacuation. He backed the ol' Suburban right on up to the Boardwalk and carried the women & children home ,(Rich too). KW, MH, & Phillip rode home in the rain with out a care in the world. Last year we celebrated Rich's birthday on Father's Day at the same spot. Rich & KW had a long in-depth conversation at the bar about why we didn't have a repeat celebration this year. Guess what Rich, I think we kinda celebrated your birthday without knowing it. Happy B-Day you old fart. KW

Busch Gardens Jake's B Day : 8.24.09 A whole mess of us met at Busch Gardens to Celebrate Jake's Birthday and sample some of the park's fine beverages. Here's the list of characters: KW, MH, Emily,Sam, Kathleen,Jake,Addie,Anne,Phillip,Griffin,Riley,Jack,Kate,Lily,Tom,Sissy,Emily. And then there was the "Lemon Incident" We were riding the Apollo's Chariot early in the day when I spotted something yellow in the air ahead of us as we dropped into the first big sweeping left hand turn. Didn't think much of it until we got to the end and Jack starts yelling about getting hit in the face by something hard. When he got out of his seat there was a whole, ripe Lemon! It hit him near the eye, but he was OK. Still don't know where it came from? We all had a blast, and Emily W. rode her first roller coaster! (Alpengiest) Now she's a coaster junkie and can't get enough.

Catch 31 Adventure : PART 1 July 24 I headed down to the Spring Hill Pool to relax after a long day of working in the heat. I heard from Philip that Jamie & Val were free, so I called them out to the pool for a couple of burgers and a pitcher of Shock Top. Somehow we ended up at Catch 31... PART 2 (Begins where you see Jeff's phone) August 5, Jeff, Mark, Rob & KW headed up to Catch to see Cracker performing live on stage, but the severe weather cut the concert short,knocked out power in the bar, and made for a very wet and tense ride home with all the thunder and lightning ,ON BIKES!
